         PROLOGUE

Walt Whitman declared, "Do I contradict myself? Very well then, I contradict myself. I am complex, I contain multitudes."

Carl Jung suggested artistic expression as the best means to access and incorporate our many selves in order that we don't stuff them into the depths of our psyche, only to see them spring out as a Jack-in-a-Box.

In these poems are some of my many selves. Pay special atttention to the poems that make you squirm as they draw you in, because that discomfort just may be one of your neglected selves screaming for attention.
